I feel extremely lucky that I’ve been able to combine my loves for writing and music by working on copy desks at Rolling Stone and Vibe and writing features, album reviews, and gear reviews for Premier Guitar, Drum!, Keyboard, Electronic Musician, and Guitar World Acoustic. More recently, I’ve co-hosted podcasts and written features for Acoustic Guitar, contributed to Ukulele and the EarthQuaker Devices blog, and written a monthly column for Yamaha Music USA. Here are a few cover stories I particularly enjoyed writing.

As a senior editor at Bass Player, editor-in-chief of the Guitar World spin-off Bass Guitar, and editor-at-large over at bassmagazine.com, I’ve hung out with some of the greatest low-frequency manipulators ever. Here are some of my favorite stories.

I’ve also been honored to edit a couple books and be included in anthologies.

Besides being a music journalist, I’ve been a copy editor for the San Francisco Chronicle, the San Francisco Bay Guardian, The Palm Beach Post, and The Miami Herald; I’ve also been an editor/proofreader for the City of New York and a copy chief for Computer Shopper. Looking for an editor? Reach out!
